    Prism Achieves Virginia VELAP Accreditation
In preparation for Virginia’s new laboratory accreditation requirements that took effect on January 1, 2012, Prism Labs has received accreditation by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) under their new VELAP certification program.
The new program requires all environmental laboratories that perform tests, analyses, measurements or monitoring required pursuant to the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Air, Waste and Water Laws and Regulations to be accredited by the VELAP program.
As of 1/1/2012, laboratory analysis data submitted to DEQ to demonstrate compliance with Virginia Laws and Regulations must be performed by an environmental laboratory accredited under the new VELAP system.
“Achieving this accreditation is an extremely important achievement for Prism Labs, as it positions us to continue to offer our full array of analytical and field support services to environmental consultants, government departments and industry located in Virginia”, explains Robbi Jones, President of Prism Labs. “This accreditation, combined with our Small Business Administration certification and our Woman Owned status, positions us for continued growth in the Virginia market
